Piarere Water Ski Club Profile
The Piarere Water Ski Club is located at the southern end of Lake Karapiro in the Waikato, in an area known as Horahora Domain. The water ski club has been an integral part of the lake for over 67 years, incorporated in 1957 by a group of enthusiastic sportsmen and women.
The club has a growing membership base, not all of our members are professional skiers, and in fact the majority is Family and Social membership with a keen focus on growing our juniors into competitive skiing and other water disciplines.

We have well equipped club rooms including full kitchen, covered Gas BBQ’s and dining area to ensure you can refuel the family in comfort after a day on the water.
If you just want to chill out after a hot shower for a while we have a lounge area with plenty of comfortable furniture. We have recently completed a full revamp of our boat ramps and there is plenty of parking for the trailer.

Club equipmentWe have a large range of equipment available for our members to use, Combo Ski’s children’s ski equipment, wake boards and much more.
Water Ski Jump
The water skiing jump is promoted and known as the best jump in New Zealand, and has seen many national records broken using it.
In 2012 we completed a full refurbishment of the Jump and to ensure we get accurate jump records we now have Splash Eye installed social
PWSC are not just about skiing, our social committee run regular events on and off the water to ensure our members are keeping in touch and enjoying every opportunity to get out.

Slalom CourseWe have two course our main course is right out front of the club rooms and the second course is just up the lake behind a small island which provides great shelter from the wind.

Over the warmers months we run club coaching night for:

There are a good number of keen barefooters in our club. From complete beginners to national champions, we pretty much have it covered. The Piarere site is also the home base for the Waikato Region of the New Zealand Barefoot Water Ski Club.
We have all the equipment and expertise required if you want to give barefooting a go. There is a special barefoot training and jump course just up the lake from the club. |
